After years of painting, drawing, and other creative pursuits, I’ve finally succumbed to the nagging of my family and other lovely well-wishers, and I am proud to finally present to you, My New Website! I have been hunched over my laptop feverishly engaged in captioning, formatting, image processing and muttering at WordPress block layouts, and now it displays my online portfolio, with work from the mid 2000’s until last week Thursday – portraits, landscapes, drawings, and a few oddities that insisted on being included. It still has that new car smell about it, and I’m truly pleased with how well it turned out.
Of course, none of this would exist without my husband’s tireless efforts on the technical front. He wrangled plugins, watched dreary instructional vids, deciphered CSS, and gently (sometimes not so gently) nudged me to get the creative side in train. Without his quiet persistence and occasional exasperated sighs, this site would still be a scribble on a to-do list.
Once upon a time, I had a poorly self-curated website, glorying in the name of marionfuchs.com, where things lived in a semi-chaotic fashion. I foolishly allowed it to lapse, and an unscrupulous opportunist promptly bought the domain and now holds it for ransom. Refusing to be extorted, my divinely inspired spouse once again stepped into the breach. With heroic calm and a touch of wizardry, he secured the excellent alternatives marionfuchs.art, which is probably how you’ve found me here today.
In gathering images for this new site, I discovered—somewhat to my astonishment—that I have over 200 paintings, drawings, and other things to upload. This doesn’t include the ceramics, prints and other rather less impressive items I chose not to bore you with. There are also several works I don’t seem to have photographed at all. If you happen to have one hanging in your house, I’d love to include it—please do get in touch. I promise not to critique your lighting.
If you’ve ever generously bought one of my works, commissioned a piece, wandered into my studio, or followed along from afar – thank you. And if you’re new here, welcome. Feel free to linger, tilt your head, or get in touch.
It’s a strange thing, putting your work out there like this. But here it is – finally painted and posted.
